AI biweekly recap – Guide your team to ride the AI wave 🏄‍♀️🌊

Upskilling with AI, etiquette for note-takers, and the latest headlines on AI.

In today’s issue of the AI Biweekly Recap by Fellow, we’ve gathered 3 trending topics we’re excited to discuss with you:

  1. Upskilling with AI

  2. Etiquette for AI note-takers

  3. The latest headlines on AI in the workplace

Let’s dive right in.

1. AI upskilling: why it matters and how to get started

Did you know… Nearly 1 in 4 U.S. tech jobs posted so far this year are seeking employees with “AI-related skills,” according to researchers at the University of Maryland.

Importantly, research shows that most companies have not responded to the AI wave with layoffs. Instead, the trend is to “retrain and redeploy employees.”

🏄‍♀️ 3 ideas to empower your team to ride the AI wave

  1. Launch mini-AI bootcamps: Host short training sessions on how to use tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, or other AI platforms relevant to your workflows.

  2. Encourage hands-on experimentation: Allow space for employees to tinker with AI solutions and share quick wins with the rest of the team.

  3. Recognize and reward early adopters: Celebrate those who find creative uses for AI, offering mentorship roles to help colleagues get up to speed.

2. AI note-taker etiquette: the Dos and Don’ts

In researching the proper etiquette of using AI meeting note-takers, Lauren Strapagiel spoke with two experts in the field: Katrina Ingram, founder of Ethically Aligned AI, and Ann-Maree Morrison, an e-commerce and business advisor.

Their combined perspectives highlight the importance of asking for consent, ensuring security, and creating thoughtful policies as AI becomes more common in professional settings.

3. This week in AI: workplace news and trends

1. AI Adoption in US Workplaces Reaches 72%: A TechRadar article published on March 8, 2025, reported that 72% of US offices adopted ChatGPT in 2024, up from 68% in 2023, according to a DeskTime study surveying 2,385 employees across 97 companies.

2. Growing disconnect in AI readiness between leaders and employees: Reports released on March 6, 2025, from Corndel’s 2025 Workplace Training Report revealed a significant gap in AI preparedness perceptions.

While 88% of HR leaders are “confident in their ability to guide AI adoption,” only 39% of employees report receiving AI training. This disconnect underscores challenges in aligning leadership confidence with practical employee readiness and highlights the importance of investing in AI upskilling.

3. What is the Manus mania about? Manus, developed by startup Butterfly Effect, is an autonomous AI agent capable of building apps, conducting deep research, and screening resumes on its own. Despite limited resources, it surpasses OpenAI’s Deep Research on the GAIA benchmark, positioning itself as a leading contender for the title of the first “general AI agent.”

4. One of our community members just launched a Canva app called Carousel Studio: It helps you create LinkedIn carousels with AI, right inside of Canva. 9,500 creators already use it! Check it out here
